The schooner KYLE SPANGLER sank in Lake Huron after colliding with the Schooner RACINE. The collision occurred between the cathead and nighthead, and the KYLE SPANGLER went down in about ten minutes. The incident took place on November 10, 1860. The KYLE SPANGLER was carrying a cargo of 15,000 bushels of corn and was bound from Chicago to Buffalo. It was valued at $10,000 and owned by parties in New York City.
