The schooner EMMA L. NIELSEN, with official U.S. number 135665, was a wooden vessel built in 1883 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It had a gross tonnage of 90 tons and a net tonnage of 85 tons. The vessel’s dimensions were 98.2 feet in length, 20.6 feet in width, and 6.2 feet in height.
On June 26, 1911, the EMMA L. NIELSEN collided with the propeller WYANDOTTE at Pointe Aux Barques, Michigan. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, and all three persons on board were rescued. However, the vessel was declared a total loss.
