DOLPHIN (1814)

On the morning of the 26th. (date unknown), in Pultneyville harbor, Lake Ontario, the schooner Dolphin, under the command of E. Brockway, encountered a severe gale that resulted in its destruction. The vessel was crushed by the force of the ice, leaving it completely shattered. This unfortunate incident was reported in the Niagara Patriot newspaper on January 12, 1819.
