The Admiral was a schooner that was built in 1852 at Port Hope, Ontario. It was a scow-built vessel made of wood and had one deck. The ship was initially owned by George Wright from Port Hope. It had a power source consisting of two masts.

The Admiral had a tonnage of 167 (old style measurement). In its history, the ownership of the ship changed hands multiple times. In 1860, it was owned by G.M. Post from Oswego, New York. In 1861, it underwent refastening and strengthening. The owners in 1863 were Myles and Bro. from Hamilton, and in 1865, it was owned by Myles and Bro. once again. By 1866, the ownership had transferred to William Miles from Toronto.

On November 4, 1867, the Admiral met its final fate. It was wrecked at Toronto Point on Lake Ontario. Reports indicate that the wrecking occurred either in 1867 or 1874. Unfortunately, further details about the specific circumstances of the wreck are not available.

The Admiral was described as a screw-built schooner and had a value of £1,200 Sterling. It was considered an A1 hull with A1* stores. It is noted that the vessel was locked up in 1866.

During the same gale that wrecked the Admiral, another schooner called the Orion, owned by Myles Bros., was stranded but managed to be got off without significant trouble.

Overall, the Admiral had a relatively short but eventful history, and its final disposition was a result of being wrecked at Toronto Point on Lake Ontario.
