Chronological History

Ralph T. Holcomb had a history of ownership changes and towing duties. It was first enrolled in Sandusky, Ohio on June 3, 1898, and was used to tow the vessel named Gebhart. In 1900, it was involved in towing the A. Mosher. The Price Lumber Company of Fremont, Ohio owned the vessel in 1902. It later towed the Eva S. Robinson in 1903 and the G.H. Warmington in 1907.

Ownership of the Ralph T. Holcomb changed hands again in 1905 when it was acquired by F.E. Hall of L’Original, Ontario. At that point, the vessel was renamed Ralph T. Holcomb and was registered as C116400. It measured 133.42 feet in length, 30.16 feet in width, and 9.16 feet in depth. Its gross tonnage was recorded as 375 tons, with a net tonnage of 165 tons.

In 1911, the Ralph T. Holcomb was purchased by Edwardsburg Starch, based in Cardinal, Ontario. The vessel underwent a rebuilding process in 1921, likely to improve its condition or modify its structure. The last known owner listed for the vessel was the Holcomb Navigation Company of Montreal.

After serving its purpose for many years, the Ralph T. Holcomb was eventually retired and abandoned near a mill in Cardinal, Ontario around 1930. Its remains were left buried in that location. The vessel was also known by the name Isaac Lincoln at some point, but the exact details of this name change are not provided in the information available.
