The SWALLOW, a wooden Schooner, was driven ashore during a storm on November 12, 1820, near Braddock’s Point on Lake Ontario. The vessel bilged (suffered damage to the Hull, allowing water to flood the hold) and was reported as a Total Loss. The ship was commanded by Captain Pond, and it was operating out of Sackett’s Harbour at the time.

There are some discrepancies about the event: Hgl (Historical Great Lakes) references a Schooner named SWALLOW that went ashore at Braddock’s Point in 1880, but it’s likely a misreporting of this earlier incident from 1820.
