Description: The MANZANILLA was a sizable three-masted schooner constructed by the renowned shipbuilder Louis Shickluna. Initially built as a bark, she underwent significant repairs in 1880.

History

History: On October 13, 1887, the MANZANILLA was driven ashore at Van Buren Point by a southwest gale. The crew managed to reach shore independently, while the captain was later rescued by fishermen from Barcelona, NY, after the Lifesaving Service failed to respond. The vessel was registered out of St. Catharines or Hamilton, Ontario, and was a sister ship to the schooner MAGELLAN.
