On October 17, 1912, the wooden, three-masted schooner-barge H.B. vanished beneath the waves of Lake Ontario during a fierce windstorm, taking four lives and a full load of coal with her. More than a century later, on July 8, 2016, divers Tim Caza and Dennis Gerber discovered her upright and remarkably preserved in deep water about 20 miles offshore.
Now, Shotline Diving is proud to release a detailed site sketch of the wreck, created from side-scan sonar data and over 5,000 high-resolution photographs. The sketch reveals the vessel’s hull form, remaining structures, and cargo features — offering divers and historians a rare look at an intact early-20th-century schooner-barge.
