Shotline Diving is pleased to report that two key dive sites have now been successfully moored for the 2025 season thanks to the combined efforts of dedicated local divers and community support.

On a brisk May day, with Lake Ontario waters beginning to warm (now reading 44°F / 6.7°C), our crew deployed and secured surface moorings at two of Kingston’s most popular wreck sites:

Special thanks go to Corey and Matt, who brought the boat and the support to do the task. Divers in the water for the operation were Matthew Charlesworth, Dustin Proper, Ben Speer, and Corey Phillips. Conditions were ideal for this early in the season, and both installations went smoothly.

These moorings are vital not only for diver safety and access but for the ongoing preservation of the wrecks themselves — reducing anchor damage and promoting responsible site use.

If you’re diving in the Kingston area soon, remember to check line conditions, report any issues, and as always: take only photos, leave only bubbles.
