One of the greatest mysteries of the Great Lakes finally was solved recently with the discovery of the final resting place of the renowned car ferry Pere Marquette 18!
The discovery of the huge steel vessel at the bottom of Lake Michigan amazed both shipwreck enthusiasts and railroad historians.
110 years after the loss, which claimed the lives of 29 people, shipwreck hunters Jerry Eliason and Ken Merryman located the Pere Marquette 18 in nearly 500 feet of water.
Ken Merryman will recount the history of the vessel and the discovery, with amazing deep-water video of the Pere Marquette 18, LIVE ON STAGE, at the 25th anniversary of Michigan Shipwreck Research Association’s annual EVENING BENEATH THE INLAND SEAS, March 22, 2025 at the knickerbocker theater in Holland.
