Today’s Feature in Scuba News Canada
Matthew Charlesworth — diver, heritage steward, and co-founder of Shotline Diving — was featured today in Scuba News Canada for his weekend work in the Kingston area.
Matthew helped raise seasonal moorings—the first line of defense in protecting historic wrecks like the Dredge Munson from anchor damage. His contribution doesn’t stop at infrastructure; the feature includes a haunting underwater image of the Munson’s generator and memorial plaque, a shot that captures both the beauty and solemnity of this upright 1890 wreck.
Also profiled was the Munson itself, recently highlighted as a “Must Dive” in the same publication. Sitting intact at depth and boasting remarkable features like its shovel and deck structures, it continues to offer a uniquely preserved glimpse into industrial marine history.
Charlesworth’s ongoing dedication helps ensure these wrecks remain both accessible and protected — preserving not just sites, but stories
