Description & Context

The Stern is mostly intact and standing:

  • The shipwheel is still present.
  • The stern planking and outer hull are presen; edges are softened and broken, with timbers encrusted and covered in mussel growth.
  • Just aft of the stem there’s a stern rail or heavy deck beam spanning the sterb – it’s broken and partly slumped.
  • Along the nearer side you can see the frames/ribs projecting where the hull planking has rotted away.
