Smiths Falls, located along strategic trade routes near the Rideau Canal, served as an excellent hub for their operations. Their ownership of the T.J. Waffle lasted until 1916, when they sold the vessel, potentially due to economic shifts or a strategic business decision to divest from direct shipping operations.
