John J. Boland (1875–1956)

John J. Boland (1875–1956) was a significant figure in Great Lakes shipping, co-founding the American Steamship Company in 1907 alongside Adam E. Cornelius. Their first vessel, the SS Yale, was the first steel ship owned by a Buffalo firm, marking a milestone in regional maritime history.
