J. Faulkner (or Falconer)

J. Faulkner (or Falconer) was the original owner of the schooner CHARM, constructed in 1859 by shipbuilder George Thurston in Kingston, Ontario. The CHARM was a wooden schooner with a square stern, measuring 76.8 feet in length, 17.2 feet in beam, and 6.6 feet in depth, with an original tonnage of 81. The vessel was primarily used for regional trade and transport on Lake Ontario, carrying goods such as grain and other agricultural products between Canadian and American ports. In 1861, ownership of the CHARM transferred to George Laidlaw of Toronto, Ontario. The vessel continued to operate on Lake Ontario until it foundered in a storm near Amherst Island on November 5, 1874.
