Harry Gambel

Harry Gambel was the final owner of the Brown Brothers, purchasing the vessel after it had reverted to its original name following its stint as the Iveyrose. Gambel, likely a figure within the maritime or fishing industries, operated the vessel during its last years. Under Gambel’s ownership, the Brown Brothers continued its service on Lake Erie until its fateful sinking in 1959 during a gale off Long Point. Gambel’s ownership marked the vessel’s final chapter, highlighting its enduring value as a workboat despite its age and long service history.
