Georgian Bay Shipwrecks & Dive Sites

Georgian Bay is one of the most visually stunning freshwater diving destinations on Earth —
a place where sheer granite cliffs drop straight into deep, cold, crystal-clear water. Known as the
“Sixth Great Lake,” its rugged coastline, storms, and navigation hazards have sent countless ships to the bottom.

Many of its wrecks are intact, upright, and preserved in icy clarity. If Lake Huron is the curator,
Georgian Bay is the special exhibit with better lighting, better visibility, and a more dramatic
sense of theatre.

The Shotline Diving Georgian Bay Project brings together wreck histories, dive site guides,
photographs, and records from Fathom Five and beyond. Use this page as your starting point for planning
trips, comparing regions, or just exploring what lies along the edge of the Shield.
