Frenchman’s Creek  Drift

Type: Drift Dive

Depth: 10 to 30 feet

Drift time: 45 minutes

Description: A roughly 2.5 km/h drift. A field of bleached zebra muscle shells can be found here, as well as many fish and bottles. Wear thick wetgloves or drygloves, the bottom is covered in sharp zebra muscle shells.

Access: Shore. 2 cars are needed for this dive and it is best done with 3 people. Park both cars at the boat launch, and assemble your gear. Have one person stay with the gear, while the other two drive both cars to Frenchman’s Creek  Drift EXIT marked on the map. Leave one car there, and return to Frenchman’s Creek Drift ENTRY on the other. After you have geared up, swim out some distance from the shore to clear the weeds. After you surface, look for the dock that is a little ways before the exit. 

Visibility: 10 to 30 feet. Best dived after a couple days of no rain.
