Andrews & Boland

Andrews & Boland was a shipping company based in Buffalo, New York, during the late 19th century. They were the original owners of the schooner Abbie L. Andrews, constructed in 1873 by the Bailey Brothers in Toledo, Ohio. The vessel was a wooden-hulled, three-masted schooner with a gross tonnage of 278.28 tons, measuring 136.1 feet in length.

The Abbie L. Andrews served under Andrews & Boland’s ownership, navigating the Great Lakes and transporting various cargoes. In 1907, the schooner was sold to Canadian owners and continued to operate under Canadian registration until it was laid up in 1920 and eventually scrapped in 1938.

While specific details about the operations and other vessels owned by Andrews & Boland are limited, their ownership of the Abbie L. Andrews highlights their involvement in the maritime trade of the Great Lakes during that era.
