The vessel A.E. STEWART, a bulk propeller made of steel, was built on July 8, 1902, in West Bay City, Michigan, with an official number 107778. It had a gross tonnage of 3943 and a net tonnage of 3049, with dimensions of 356 feet in length, 50 feet in width, and 28 feet in height. It was later renamed GLENORCHY when it was registered in Canada with official number 138213 in 1918.

On October 29, 1924, the GLENORCHY (formerly A.E. STEWART) sank in a collision with the steamship LEONARD B. MILLER, six miles southeast of Harbor Beach, Michigan, in Lake Huron. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties in the incident.
