WYOMING, with the U.S. registration number 81150, was a merchant vessel listed in the U.S. Merchant Vessel List of 1891. It had a gross tonnage of 1,952.80 tons and a net tonnage of 1,739.75 tons. The ship was built in Buffalo, New York, in 1887, and its home port was also Buffalo. With dimensions of 241.0 feet in length, 39.9 feet in width, and 14.9 feet in depth, the WYOMING entered service in Buffalo in 1887.

During the 1890s, the WYOMING was frequently chartered to the Port Huron & Detroit Steamship Co. based in Port Huron, Michigan. In 1906, the vessel underwent a rebuild in Buffalo, resulting in a shallower depth of 14.5 feet and a reduced gross tonnage of 1,488 tons and net tonnage of 934 tons. Ownership of the WYOMING changed hands over the years, with the Wyoming Steamship Co., managed by C.S. Mahoney, taking over in 1907 and later by Boland & Cornelius in 1910.

The ship was laid up in 1912 but was subsequently acquired by the Reid Wrecking Co. of Port Huron, Michigan, in 1916. In 1917, it came under the ownership of the American Interlake Line with a new home port in Duluth, Minnesota. In 1919, the WYOMING was transferred to Canada Steamship Lines, based in Montreal, Quebec, and its home port was changed accordingly. The U.S. enrollment of the vessel was surrendered on November 20, 1919.

In 1920, the ship was enrolled in Canada with the name MAPLEGLEN. It underwent a slight alteration in size, measuring 250.4 feet in length, 40.1 feet in width, and 14.6 feet in depth, with a gross tonnage of 1,492 tons and a net tonnage of 911 tons. However, the MAPLEGLEN was laid up in Kingston, Ontario, at the end of the 1921 season and did not operate again.

Finally, in 1925, the hull of the MAPLEGLEN, formerly known as the WYOMING, was scuttled off Kingston, Ontario, in Lake Ontario, marking the end of its service. The vessel had a foreign name, WYOMING, which it carried until 1920 when it was officially renamed MAPLEGLEN.
