Ashore in the same storm is the LADY FRANKLIN, 1 mile from Lexington, RHODA EMILY ashore at White Rock, MAGRUDER ashore at Sand beach, and the WEND THE WAVE sunk by collision.

Steambarge EAST SAGINAW with Barges WEND-THE-WAVES, HINCKLEY, and LIGHT GUARD was caught in two cyclones on Lake Michigan last week. Her tow line parted and the barges went into Chicago seperately. The WEND-THE-WAVES lost about 500 railroad ties, which were washed off her deck.
