- Welland Canal
Type: Submerged Structure
Depth: 30 to 40 feet
Description: A bridge dive on the bridge spanning Welland Canal. The structure is supported by many pillars which can be swam through. Light in the evening often hits the pillars at just right angle, and created “God Rays”. Other attractions include a towed of shopping carts and many bicycles.
Access: Shore. Parking is at the Welland Canal Scuba Park parking lot, and it’s a 400 meter walk (or swim) to the bridge from there.
Visibility: 20 to 30 feet. Because of it’s enclosed location, the water is almost always perfectly flat and the silt is not stirred up.
