This site has two attractions (two sites in close proximity). The sites are located immediately upstream of the last set of rapids of the Petawawa River before it dumps into the Ottawa River in the village of Petawawa. The two sites occur in a sharp elbow of the river, where the current is reduced, but the river current is still an important factor in planning the dive(safety issue). Beinginthemaincurrentofthe river, this site should be visited only during the times that the river is at its lowest levels, e.g., August or September. A positive aspect of the current is that there is minimal silt at the site, plus any silt kicked up is quickly washed away by the current.
