The wreck with RECRD “2355” and VESSLTERMS “UNKNOWN” is a submerged wreck that is dangerous to surface navigation. It is located at approximately latitude 46.475019 and longitude -84.302814. According to the history, it was initially located by fathometer with a least depth of 9.1 feet at LWD (Lowest Water Depth) in 14 feet of water. No diver investigation was conducted at that time. The wreck was confirmed by Dennis Dougherty and Loran Hartwig, who reported the wreck in 17 feet of water, straight off their pier, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. In the subsequent updates, it was not investigated further, and a full survey was recommended to verify or disprove the existence of the wreck. The survey requirements were outlined, including the use of bottom drag or diver investigation with a minimum radius of 10 meters. Disproval of the wreck’s existence could be obtained by providing salvage documentation. The wreck remained marked with the status “not investigated” as of the most recent update in the record.
