The sailing yacht Raymond, whose construction details are unknown, met its unfortunate end in 1925 when it was lost at the foot of Round Island. The wreckage of the yacht now rests approximately 38 feet underwater, positioned downstream of Round Island along the inside channel. The vessel was extensively damaged by fire, with the flames reaching the waterline. Despite the destruction, the lower section of the hull remains intact, along with remnants of its auxiliary engine and a portion of the mast.
In 1969, the Clayton Diving Club stumbled upon the wreck of the yacht Raymond. While conducting their dive using dive-planes, the club members were actually in search of a War of 1812 gunboat that was rumored to be in the vicinity. By chance, they discovered the wreck of the yacht Raymond, which was known to be in the same area.
