The schooner C.A. JOHNSON, owned by Capt. Henderson, struck a rock near Gros Cap around 2 o’clock in the morning on September 23, 1895, and broke apart. She was carrying a load of stone at the time of the incident. Fortunately, all the crew members were rescued and survived the accident.
